Hopefuly this will push down the DDR3 prices a bit, My PC died 10 days ago and I've been waiting to see the price/performance of AM3 CPU's and if they have any effect on DDR3 prices.
Seen them for sale on Yoyotech's site as well:
yoyotech.co.uk/phenom-black-edition-30ghz-socket-125w-p-1080377.html
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition, 3.0Ghz, Socket AM2+, 125W CPU
£197.10 inc Preorder
yoyotech.co.uk/phenom-socket-p-1080376.html
AMD Phenom II X4 920, 2.8 GHz, Socket AM2+, L3 6 MB CPU
£170.07 In Stock
Only seen 1 AM3 Motherboard available though (supports only Dual Channel DDR3) so I think I will be waiting

Gigabyte motherboard MA790XT-UD4P AMD AM3 790X ATX
£119 inc In Stock
I've noticed that ebuyer has created a site section for AM3 motherboards - nothing in it yet though
I don't think it's worth looking towards AM3 for a couple of months yet - and I doubt DDR3 prices will come down much in the middle of a global recession: I can't see DDR3 selling in sufficient bulk to make up for a reduction in margins. DDR3 prices will probably come down when OEMs decide to move to i7 / AM3 (and i5 perhaps? is that DDR3?) and push wholesale volume upwards. I should imagine the volume of RAM sold to OEMs is significantly higher than to retail...
I think that DDR3 prices on some dual channel sets will come down.
etailers and retailers already have loads of DDR3 stock, but after the introduction of i7, they are just collecting dust, either because A) if people are able to spend money on DDR3, they can also (probably) afford a new core i7, meaning they will spring for triple channel DDR3. Or B) Existing stock modules run voltages too high for nehalem.
No matter who you are, unsold stock is bad for business, so even if the MSRP doesn't move, you can probably expect retailer-specific sales as they try to get the stuff out the door.
2 days late..

That triple core black edition could be very interesting for an overclocked gaming rig. The price of DDR3 does already seems to be falling slowly.
Any news on the arrival date of Phenom II X4 925 ?
fyi - mobos for AM3 are already available, seems gigabyte is the first one:

It seems a shame that those Gigabyte motherboards are all Dual-channel DDR3. Anyone seen any Triple-channel boards out there with indicative pricing? Will it be a similar situation to the pricing of Core i7 boards? And what is the real-world performance difference likely to be? It would be annoying to buy a Dual-channel memory kit, and then not be able to get a matching third stick when it came time to move on to a new motherboard...
