Apple and orange. A modern game has substantially more media components (video/audio/texture for various quality etc.) than a full XP installation, and there is only so much you can shrink those. I am sure that with effort, and the knowledge someone could 'rip' the game into something 1/10th without making it look 90% worse the size, by re-encoding audio with lower bit-rate, do the same for textures etc.
But if I am going to buy the games (after price drops), I think that I can afford to pay another 60p of hard disk space to install it and play the way it was intended. Not that I doubt that the game isn't fully optimised, but I just don't think the size is going to halve without sacrificing anything.
Back on topic: the odd thing is, I was able to play Diablo/Hellfire after many years without getting tired of the graphics. In fact, I am quite tolerant when it comes to graphics of old games (very happy with SNES sprite based games). But I wasn't able to get used to D2's graphics. I am looking forward to the latest instalment though. Still, first things first: Starcraft 2!

I am quite pleased at the system requirements of this game. It's good to see that the developers are bringing out a new game that will not require a monster to run it.
This looks like you could run it on a laptop. good seeing it's co-op. Still unsure if it will be a game I'll be buying though

If those specs are accurate then its nice to see programmers working that bit harder to get it running on a "lesser" machine instead of just being lazy and saying you need 2x2Ghz CPU's 2Gb RAM and an uber gfx card, not that I'm suggesting thats what they would do of course lol
Well, sounds believeable enough. It's still more 2d. Although saying that Titan Quest was a surprise.
And J.O.S.H, developers would do better make games scalable so poor little orphans can play as well. And card manufacturers also keep pushing there tech for other reasons, not just power. Like low energy using cards and stuff. They realised that there is a mid range and budget market as well
Like the 8800 GTS. That sold loads.
Although, sat there with your mighty i7 machine I guess you can enjoy games a their best you lucky git
Your system specs are high end. My PC is a mere calculator compared to that beast.
I luv you
I still have not looked at the Hexus link to this site. I just read what Hexus posted. Which I guess there must be some relavence there.
I can't remember where I read elsewhere that think it'll be released around December. Another rumour.
And the CPU? I have E6300 Core 2 Duo in my PC. They run at around 1.86Ghz. I play Far Cry 2 just fine on it. And it'll have to make do until I have enough pennies for i5 or possibly i7.
And that is if I even bother. After I buy a Blu-Ray/HD drive it'll still be a sweet media PC.
Especially seeing how GTA IV looks on my 360 with my new monitor.
Hugs and kissess mate. Stop slapping dumb animals.

Just had an email from Gameplay to advise that the release date is set at 24th Sept. Not sure how true it is, but given that Blizzard typically make the big announcements around now it could be a possibility.
I forgot to mention which year... 24 Sept 2010
