You were surpised that Grid won? Or surprised that Grid was considered a sports game?...

Well it's a mixed bag, let's be honest.

Some pretty obvious stuff - Mario Galaxy best game. It's a masterpiece.

Then they go and spoil things by giving Call of Duty 4 best... story.

Eh? Some terrorists iz shootin at some nice peeps, SAVE THE NICE PEEPS!11!

Best story? I could better said story in 15 minutes, writing only with a carrot stump dipped in beetroot juice, on the back of 20 Bensons.

    Foolish.

I agree, there are far better storys our there, although I did like COD4's ending (ignoring the 'plane bit at the very end).

but mario galazy is 17 months old?

cod4 best storyline? should have gone to MGS4 and i dont care that it has a 10 hour cutscene, many cannot say the storyline and characters is one of, if not the best story driven game made from the last 5+years

cod4? what story? what characters? Grid best sports game? is it a sport?

    And when was COD4 released?

I'll tell you. November 2007. Mario Galaxy was released? Oh November 2007.

These awards should have a proper dating system like the Oscars. Both COD 4 & Mario Galaxy should not have even been on the voting list.

I was thinking about that and maybe it because you are racing for your own team for a number of seasons, albeit in about a million cars, so its basically motorsport isnt it?

Who voted for these awards anyway? Looking at the lists of games and the awards they won, with few exceptions, you'd assume it was inmates at an institution for the mentally subnormal.

Was it 'industry insiders' or what?

    What a load of rubbish.

And gamers themselves voted these results?
As already said, Fallout 3 be there. And GTA IV should. Still, I guess Rockstar will still be celebrating for selling GTA IV by the crapload.
