Is it valid for business customers?
Is it valid for business customers?
One thing that doesn't seem clear to me. If you buy a new CPU with scansure and accidentally knacker your existing motherboard while putting the CPU in, does the insurance cover replacing the motherboard?
I feelo so strongly about this, I actually read all of Saracens post!!
It's like Ryanair and easyjet (and other "low fairs" airlines), they have been slammed by the EU for having insurances, fast boardings and excess baggage checked by default on their sites, making it more dificult for passengers to actually get the price advertised. This is the same thing.
Now I know it's there, and I'll have to remember to remove the check. BNo big deal you say, but it leaves a bad taste in your mouth, just like using Ryanair and Easyjet sites.
TheTrainLine offers to book you travel tickets in london and sell you travel insurance, but they don't presume to enable them by default on your train ticket. This is the way it should be.
tickedon is completely right. If you are going to do it, do it right.
Lastly, my other fear is that you will be accused repeatedly of offering a better or faster service to those with the insurance. I know it is false, but people already jumpt to the conclusion that their order gets delayed because they got free shipping, how many are going to argue (filling the forums with roudy threads) that they recieved worse service because they didn't take out "insurance"?
Just to be clear, I am not suggesting there will be a difference in service, I'm just suggesting there may be a perception of this by disgruntled customers.
Let's make this very clear..
Customer's are not penalised with delays when taking free carriage and customer's won't be penalised if they opt out of Scansure, other than the direct benefits of paying for the service of course. Any "Pereption" to the contrary is wrong and there is no reason to think this way.
Thhere is no advantage to us for delaying order's.
I'll put forward the feedback that we could possibly add an opt out option to the My Account > Profile section via My Account.
Best Regards
Indeed. Its a very good idea for a first time builders but people who are enuthiansts, regulars to the store who build / upgrade regulary etc etc wouldn't want this.
I know I wouldn't want it and knowing me I would forget to op-out when I come to order. So having it saved to your account or making it an op-in option would be better.
CP may you answer the questions I asked on the last page..
Thanks.

Sure, I'll confirm all your questions and reply on Monday.

Well, an opt out is the best way to keep everyone happy. That way there is a choice to 'add' it if need be, not forget about it and then be charged.
It is good to see the feedback about this as i expect Scan to see how people are reacting to the new Installation Insurance procedure and act accordingly.
At the end of the day Scan are offering a new service that 'may' help some people but probably the majority of people who build thier own PC's won't take up the insurance offer anyway.
Is it possible to get rid of the "Get 28 day installation damage insurance with Scansure" on every product in a search if you have opted out, as it's annoying
Indeed. It does clutter thing quite horribly.

who knows, the money they make from this may pay for a decent stock allocation system
or it could go on there race weekends *cough*
I hate 'opt out' schemes; if a service is offered it should sell itself transparently!!!
