as a test to see if i can break my pc,
Shockingly in the months of running no AV (but the odd scan just to check up to see if i have anything) i have had no virus's or malware...
AND YET
Clients at work, in the same period of time, loaded with some very good enterprise AV software... LOADS of Viri...
I mean... HOW THE HECK!
thus, i test an open pc at home (all valuable data on my server). and try as i might, acting like normal, i just cant get infected
Oh no that grey hound is clearly raping the white one.
(oh lord i miss ripping on my old texan team mate).
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
You are acting as normal for you, a reasonably intelligent person who works in IT... not acting as normal for the average user, who is probably an eejit when it comes to this stuff... the kind of person who sees and email saying "funny link, must watch yeaaaaaaah http://breakmypcnow.com" and clicks it...
true, although late at night, who knows what links may be clicked in the search for that special something.
lol
How long to you reckon it'll be before the EU say it's unfair to include a free AV
Nod32 ftw!
One evening a pair of hackers are discussing ways they can create a bot-net:
"We should crack a game and insert a trojan in the crack" says one.
"Nah, all games are already cracked with trojans" replies the other.
"Hmm, what about contaminating USB drives?"
"Not bad, but doesn't get that many computers onboard. We need a way of getting at as many computers as possible"
"Well whatever it is then, let's do it toMorro"
(thank you, thank you, I'm here all week )
True, and it will probably be a default option, as is Windows' Firewall & initial takeup will be good. And that in itself is (imo) not a bad thing as realistically some AV protection is better than none at all for the vast majority of windows users.
Did IE bury Netscape? Really? From where I stood it looked a lot like Netscape were happily nailing their own coffin shut. But things are better now, Firefox rose from the ashes, Opera has always been a favourite, Chrome has made a promising start & Safari is ... pants. Ah well, you can't have it all
