Put myself down for a copy of Home Premium from Amazon for the moment - no charge until dispatch - although that could of course change if they ever confirm the business about the family pack...

Tbh at £45-50 its too good to pass up, microsoft knows this lol. Was thinking of going for pro but tbh the only thing i'd maybe need is the above 16gb memory cap and even then thats doutful lol + can just upgrade later down the line if needed.
Gonna stick it on me laptop for now and if i get a new build transfer it to that and put me laptop back to vista later down the line.
Have to agree alexp, never had any issues with Play.com hence why they have had thousands of my pounds over the years..

also ordered through amazon
been using win7 beta and RC
very impressed, so much so i bought it!
So how are we supposed to download a browser without a browser?
Just ordered through Amazon. Let's hope there is not the fiasco of the Wii pre-ordering where most pre-orders were not honoured at Amazon!
is this the full version or upgrade?
can't see anything saying it is an upgrade version.
from this page Windows 7 E Editions Preview
"Until it can work out the details, people in the EU who purchase Windows 7 will get only the Full version, and not the Upgrade version, but they will acquire this product at the Upgrade prices."
Don't ya love google ... unless you're microsoft
Need some advice guys.
I been doing some googling and looking at that comparison trying to decide between Basic and pro version. At present in Windows 7 (ultimate) RC in regard to "work use" I use Sun Virtualbox with a old XP image to connect to work (Cisco VPN doesn't seem to like 64bit) and this solution works well for me as can kick off scripts/work in virtual box image, while still using the main Windows 7 os. Am I right in saying the defining feature "Windows XP Mode" between Home Premium and Pro is just an alternate to something like Sun Virtual box/VM ware? In other words my current setup of Sun virtual box with a XP image still work fine under home version?

Has pricing been confermed on the 3 pack?
Because if its the same price the flexibility to buy 4 is quite useful for me
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
Or you could throw the Firefox setup binary onto the same USB stick.
But that misses the point. If you don't have another machine available, it's a lot of hassle having to go somewhere else just to download the Firefox binary just to bring it back home and install it on your new machine. Microsoft made a total brainfart out of this one.
Back on topic, I wont be bothering with Win7 for awhile, I'll probably leave it till SP1 before taking another look at it.
Didnt know I could pick it up that cheap, now i'm tempted. Can I use the liencse with XP if I decide not to install Win7 in the same way I currently can with Vista?
Amazon appeared to be sold out by 9:30 this morning at £45.
Play took my order at £49.99 inc postage, although like others I would have preferred a 3 licence pack for a decent pre-order price. Will probably be announced the day after my copy is shipped!
