Still trying to understand some of the immigrants / benefit cheats postings. (Might check with my friend to see if the expect me to say "Top of the morning to you all" and "Would you like some more potatoes" a bit more). It appears to me they were criminals, breaking the law and got send down for it.

I was listening to a report on radio 5 about this, the person said that most (if not all) of the DVDs they made were very good quality ... some guy from trading standards come on with the usual poor quality stance.

When you open the damn thing (original DVD that is folks) you've got to sit through all that mumbo-jumbo about how you " wouldn't steal a car" or " you wouldn't steal a handbag " and oh guess what you can't bloody SKIP this and get straight to the film.

I've paid upto 12 quid for a film. For that I expect that I should be able to skip and watch it when I want to watch it, not when the "Anti-piracy" mumbo-jumbo has finished preaching to me

It pisses me off when the only time immigrants are mentioned is when someone can fire a cheap shot at them. Pathetic especially considering our history in the last 3000 years. Most of our common ancestors were immigrants from Europe at some point in the past.
As much as i hate to say it, IMO its statistics. Its the same reason why i get so frustrated when you hear that people are complaining because inner city black kids are more likely to get searched for weapons then anyone else, or when terrorism is brought up people think of Muslims....its not racism, its because they are statistically more likely to be the ones committing the crimes then another segment of the population.

I call BS to be honest as basically you are saying that all immigrants are likely to cause crime more than "indigenous" people. How come when immigrants do a good job for the country no one is saying anything good then??

People can read stats any way they want and it is like saying all Irish people are/were terrorists beacuse of the IRA's 20+ year campaign of bombing the UK and targeting the government and military personal. Lets debar all older Russians while we are at it since they were our enemy for 45 years and still have their nukes point at us.

The problem with terrorism done by the fundamentalists is that everyone things it is some Asian chap with a beard however Islam is a faith like Christianity not restricted to colour or race and it means anyone could be a Muslim (look at some of the central Russian states for example and even Turkey) TBH. Anyone as you know most Muslims are not fundamentalists anyway.

How about this one then?? People from well off backgrounds are less likely to be involved in crime than ones from poor backgrounds then?? Lets just lump everyone whose family does not earn under £40000 a year in the same category then. Why have inner cities and estates always had issues for decades?? It is not to do with race or religion but wealth.

It just nothing but paranoia on your part.

    Umm, what?

How is that so if blacks are a minority race? I agree that black people may have a higher attach rate per say 100 people to be involved in knife crime, than say Caucasians, but the population of Caucasians in this country out number blacks by an substantial amount, so there must be more knife crime done by Caucasians than blacks but the media obviously doesn't portray this message at all, That's why people complain.

I'm mean theirs only so many black people

I went to Youtube to post a small segment from the IT Crowd where Moss is watching a dvd and they have an anti-piracy advert, you probably know the one if you watch it.

But this video is 'unavailable due to copyright restrictions'.

    Hey Lee,
i completely agree. i pay for legit dvd's and they make me watch the dont pirate dvd's....
i borrowed walle bluray for a friend and inside the case it says well done for buying the legit dvd and doesnt contain the dont be a pirate thing on the disc.
I dont buy dvd's very often. If i want to see a film i normally watch it at the cinema. genrally after watching a film at the cinema i buy it when it comes out on disc.
imo the difference between quantom of solace on bluray versis dvd is so great if i can find someone to sell the dvd to im willing to buy it on bluray.

when people say crap like why pay £12 when you can £3 is stupid. dont people relise people earn a living from films and music?
to those people: if your boss said well we could carry on paying you £30K a year but why when we can pay you £20K a year?
    same thing isnt it?

I fully agree with that. If they really must show a message I can't skip, I'd expect to read 'Thank you for supporting the industry. We fully appreciate your customs. We hope you enjoy the movie'. Not some FBI warning.

Re: News - Men behind Britain's biggest DVD piracy scam jailed for six years

I have to be 100% honest here... I have never bought a blag DVD I always buy retail from places like play.com (At times you can get retail DVDs for £3!)

I do rip my DVDs and put them on my Media Server though so I am not an Angel.
