Well, the US has Ebay too and there are plenty of Radeon HD 5850 available there. The UK website has around 30 available at first glance. That's just Ebay. I unfortunately do not know many UK e-tailer websites. They might not be available in grossly high numbers but they are available.

there are currently 12 4850 for sale
5 of which are from hong kong
2 of which are from the US
of the ramaining 5, 2 are auctions currently alread at rrp of £180 (with days still to go)
1 is £235+9
1 is £266+11
and the last is £280

£180 = $293
£280 = $456
They can get away with chargeing that because 1:Stocks are low 2:Far too many numpties on fleabay think they are getting a good price because they never bother to see how much they should be paying in the first place.

Nvidia is praying that supplies stay low cos otherwise if ATI/AMD could sell at their launch prices... They would crucify NV.

This rebranding lark just undermines an already weak brand and makes it a joke.

Oh and if you want a giggle? Go check out Laptop model numbers now for NV cards. Found that one out otherday hunting down a decent laptop for a friend. Took twice as long till i found a decent comparison table. Getting a decent gaming laptop for less than sell your kidney money is a pain in the ass lately.
