It was a typo, but fair catch. But are there any word on a dual GPU 4xx card? Or is it unlikely until further die shrink?

I think it's very likely, but with the current power and production issues it's likely to be a very specialist 'out of spec' product that you'll need quite an unusual system to cope with safely. But they will want the top spot.

Dual GTX 480 by nvidia is impossible unless they somehow manage to shed over 50w off each GPU.

Dual GTX 480 by third parties, maybe, although you'd be looking at triple 8 pin power so they would be produced in very limited numbers and the cooler would probably take up more than 3 slots.

Watercooled specials (read: concepts which won't actually see the light of day) with x3 8-pins or external power will probably be along just before the 500 come along, but they'll cost roughly the same as the powerstation needed to run them and will need as much space too.
