iPad 3S!
iPad 3S!
I think it's stupidly overpriced compared to the Nexus 7 / Kindles, but people are going to buy it in their millions. Because it's Apple.
I know it's stupidly overpriced. I don't know why people still plump for this premium brand when it is so common and not really better than its rivals, if anything the mini is worse.

I got a Midget Gem for £80 and it's brilliant for the dough

My teenaged daughter pointed out that a lot of her friends will like it because it's in the sweet spot of being bigger than the iPod Touch's they have while still being hand-bag sized AND cheaper than the full-on iPad (which apparently is a big deal when you're pesting mum and dad to buy you one) - after all it's "only" £100 more than the equivalent iPod Touch.
Me, from the pictures shown I'm struck how similar to the small Galaxy Tab 2 it looks. Time for Samsung to sue Apple? (cancel trolling mode)
Speaking of Samsung, I really wish they'd do a 7"(ish) Galaxy Note around the same price.
Or £302 to spend, by the time you include the £41 shipping charge.
Given a choice, right now, between that and the Mini, I'd buy the Mini, not least because I'm just not paying £300 to a company based in China, when I can buy from a UK company and get UK legal protection.
In reality, though, I'm buying neither. The Mini is, for me, just too expensive for what it is, in a spec I'd be prepare to buy, which would not include the 16GB model.
Poor specs. Sub quality design. And they are just taking what is already in the market, despite formally stating the lack of need for the devices. The nexus 7 offers huge amounts more for huge amounts less.
Current specs:
CPU: Intel i5 3570k Overclocked @ 4.6Ghz GPU: MSI Twin Frozr 7850 @ 1000Mhz Cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 RAM: 16Gb Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA Z77X-D3H

Yes... for less than the 3g-less iPad mini...

It is me or is Apple starting to follow the market instead of innovating?
You're forgetting the bit where they then sue the company who came up with it in the first place.

some interesting news here. and you can think a similar thing happened with the nexus 7. if it did, it really does look like the start of something, especially with the dent the SGS3 is making to iphone sales. all my friends and colleges recently have brought/upgraded to SGS3, i know no-one that has an iphone5 or wants one. plenty of interest in android.
i know a few people who are just downright disappointed with their iPad and have been asking about my Nexus. 50% are going for one (or considering the kindle) and 50% are not convinced it will make any difference from the iPad (which i would mostly agree with).
Things are finally stating to balance out in the market it would seem.
