We don't have 3d, mainly cos we got given an old tv (Tiny!) before we got around to buying one. I suspect if I had got one new it would probably have had 3d. Whether we'd use that or not is a different matter.

I suppose it fell at the right time, I bought a house last year and my 40" Samsung just didn't cut it (now in the bedroom) as I don't get along with active shutter I got a cheaper LG passive display which I would say it better in every way, of course active vs passive is a different discussion.
I bought a tv with 3D. At the time I did want a 3D tv but I didn't pay anymore for it. Its a Panasonic plasma and the HD was the best for the price at the time. Getting the 3D (with free glasses) was a bonus.

Bought a Sony KDL HX723 40 inch to replace our old Sony 28 inch WS CRT, it has 3D but did not buy it because of that, Also have the Sony BDV-E380 Bluray surround sound system which is 3D ready.
Did not get any glasses with either and am not going to buy any, only got 3D as it was it was already part of both.
Nope - I buy a TV for it's picture quality (within a budget), not for a gimmick, hence buying a Panasonic G20 3 years ago.

I've still got an old 32" 720p Hannspree LCD. I've been tempted a couple of times but still not in too much of a rush. I'd be looking for a new thinner LCD at 1080p but wouldn't go out of my way for 3D unless it just happened to come with it. Heck, I might even hold out for 4k becoming mainstream
Yes. LG is a winner. Don't use the 3D much, but that's really due to lack of content!
My wife has a problem watching 3D, and she's the main user of the TV, so it's just not going to happen. I do think that 3D is cool, and I imagine that a few years down the road I'll have a tablet with a 3D display which will have some nice 3D games and play nice 3D movies.
I bought a 3D TV but not because it had 3D, never user, never intend to
Nope.
Just waiting for 3D to go back to sleep for another 30 years.
I have a Samsung 40" 3D smart TV. My wife and I really enjoy watching films in 3D. We have a few, would have more if the premium wasn't so high. As for 3D broadcasts, we don't have a TV licence as it's not worth the fee for a few programs a year. So we just stick to on iPlayer
Yes, I don't use it much but when I do I always appreciate it. For me 3D will become more significant as issues such as ghosting and reduced frame-rate/resolution are tackled - right now it's often a trade-off with 2D and that takes away some of the reason to use 3D.
Was it worth it? Well there wasn't a 2D alternative for this TV, so yeah, I'm told in reality the premium was around £200, which ain't so bad.
No.QOTW: Did you buy a 3DTV?
Have not, and will not unless it is a TV that happens to be 3D capable, that doesn't compromise non-3D quallity in any way whatever, and doesn't cost any more. I would not pay 50p more for a TV that was 3D capable than one that was not, have not and will not pay for 3D channels or content, unless they manage to design a 3D technology that doesn't give me a headache.
But so far, whether it's cheap stuff or high end, 10 to 15 minutes at most is enough for the headache to start. 30 minures and it's bad.
So no, 3D is a complete non-starter for me.
Yes.
I have a 46" samsung 3d tv but I bought it for its HD performance, as it was much better than its competitors at around the same price.
I have a 3D bluray and have tried to engage. But in all honesty it looks better in HD. My brain is quite capable of perceiving dept in a picture. I find that most films overplay the 3D so it looks fake....... (over exaggerated).
If you want wow factor then yeah it does that, but it does not look real. Real life does not have items/objects that independently leap out of reality towards me.
Given a good enough picture, (HD/4k) I can without effort perceive depth. The brain does this without tricks or filters.

I didn't mind paying to see 3D films at the cinema for a while but now I'd rather just save a few £ and watch it in 2D.
I don't have a huge problem with the 3D experience, I just don't bvelieve it represents good value for money and it is a bit of an inconvenience to have to buy and wear enough special glasses for guests, so I haven't bothered buying a 3DTV at all, but my friends have bought them and I was not amused!
120Hz gaming is about all the technology is good for IMO.
