Just updated and seem to be having the same issue again as I did with the previous/beta.... EVERY BIT OF TEXT IS STUPIDLY FUZZY!!!!!!! How do I fix this? Even in windows options the address is fuzzy .
So annoyed.
Nope..still no go! Making me laugh now....
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
That's strange. I picked up an upgrade copy of win8 pro from Tesco today (£50), just installed (I didn't insist on having an existing OS), but didn't see the 8.1 upgrade, ran windows update, rebooted, then I could see the 8.1 update.
Never mind I fixed it now!

Happy now haha, seems to be working rather well, good update love the search .
Aha right Windows 8 Enterprise (which is what I have) cannot be upgraded....
So, there ya go...I'm stuffed so to speak

Well, after what felt like an age, it's finally installed.
It did make things a little difficult when it decided my password was wrong. The password I type every day from muscle memory was suddenly wrong. After a dozen attempts I restarted the machine.
Luckily, I had set up a user account for my wife a while ago and that one worked. Two minutes later it threw up a box asking for an admin password, because my wife's user account isn't set as admin - I typed my password again and, hey presto, it worked.
Bloody weird.
I have upgraded from windows 8 pro with media centre to 8.1 and no issues so far. It seems slightly move smooth than 8 did and I do appreciate the minor details such as setting the metro background to same as desktop background, the better ability for multiple metro apps at once etc. I am glad to see shutdown option under the windows key +X menu. I am sure I will find some other useful features later on as well. Not that I will use it that much but IE11 does seem faster than IE10 but that could be due to improved in the os as well. Searching for items on the start screen is now much better with 8.1 (being able to search all items at once rather than seperate apps, settings and files)
I am not sure how I feel about upgrading via the store and then getting updates via windows update as well. It would be nice to see them merging the two somehow. this could be a pain at work where we have a wsus server to setup new machines quicker and to avoid wasting bandwidth. I hope we can upgrade to 8.1 via wsus
All done and painless. Ran from Windows Store, did it in one fell swoop while working on another machine. Nice!
One can never stop saying Thank You
Finally, Upgraded to 8.1. Looking a bit faster(definitely) than 8. Opened my drive and icons are looking clearer and better(I think so ). Microsoft store not working now, downloading updates Lets see.
Will reset my laptop soon after making a back up of my TB HDD.
Feeling sorry for Windows 8 Enterprise people -_-
Cheers !!!
Windows 8.1 Enterprise and Pro VL have different keys to their Windows 8 brethren. Not sure if companies get the free upgrade but every VL account I have accessed recently with Windows 8 also lists 8.1 keys automatically.

Nice to know it was not just me. When will MS learn that just because you want to use the ENGLISH language that does not make you American.
What I want to know is which MS designer has decided that day-glo colours are the latest in fashion. I just about needed sunglasses when w8.1 booted up. Have reset the desktop back to my old wallpaper so not as lurid but why on the start screen do I have to have tiles in such day-glo colours. Please someone tell me there is an option or some 3rd party software to allow me to select the colours for the tiles
