No.
Not convinced with the whole 'smartwatch' concept. I think it may become a fad.

QOTW will anyone say yes on this forum
Hell NO!
not for me
nope, never, waste of money
God No, I bought a Casio g-shock last year and the battery still has an estimated 2 years remaining on it... an Apple watch, talk about a step backwards !
Nope - I have a very nice Citizen solar powered eco drive and watches have tended to be very traditional.
I do like to see the progress though!

I just watched that video and for the life of me I can't figure out why I would need it. I can tell the time with my watch and run apps on my phone, which also tells the time. So no, not for me, even if I had an iPhone I can't think of anything that an Apple Watch would add to my life.
No, but then I wouldn't buy an Android or a Microsoft watch either. I have a very nice mechanical watch which apart from never needing batteries will probably outlast this latest fad.

peterb: I had a seiko kinetic but it didn't remain accurate. Never tried a self wind after that, hopefully won't need to now...
Good to know you have a timepiece you do like.

i've bought one. so no i won't be buying one as one is enough
Seiko kinetic isnt mechanical, it uses a rotor to charge a capacitor / battery. Original ones were a bit crap, charging system tended to die before a battery would have on a similar specification watch. But easy to sort out if your wiling to take the back off.
I am always amazed at the accuracy of my Omega Speedmaster mechanical watch, its hand wound. Few turns in the morning and it keeps better time than my Seiko Kinetic.

No I have more sense than money and never buy crapple stuff.
I have a Seiko Kinetic currently. It keeps time accurately enough for me, which is about 30 seconds a year. It's now about 8 or 9 years old, and never any problems. Maybe you were unlucky. Or maybe I'm just lucky with mine.
As for Apple Watch, has been said repeatedly in this thread, no, I won't be, not least because I don't have, or want, an Iphone. But even if I did, it'd still be no. Also, for my taste, overpriced. Way overpriced. And, don't like the looks. In addition, not convinced on functionality. And finally, I very rarely buy into early generations, because they're nearly always superseded by something better, faster, more powerful and cheaper. Usually, quickly. So that'll be a no, then.
I'll stick with my Seiko from 1967 which my dad gave me 20 years ago. Apart from a strap it's never skipped a beat
