To be honest most people can charge at home, obviously those with on street parking (like the chap in the article) are a bit screwed. Looking at my shortish commute an electric makes sense, but I wouldn't expect my employer to provide free charging.

Are the ones you're thinking of M-series? I can't comment on the rest.

I think you underestimate how many people have to park on-street, especially those who'd get an EV as they mainly live local and only do town runabouts. Half of Reading is on-street.

I know of two that were. The rest, I honestly didn't care to know. They're horrible to work on and a major pain in the ass. 5-series for sure, one was an E90. I pay more attention to their reg plates, really.

I have heard complaints about the more recent BMWs having too much electronics detaching the driver from the road. ISTR yours is an older car? If so, I would hang onto it

Did anyone watch the live reveal of the new Nissan Leaf? If not, it's must see stuff. Go to youtube and search for "Live Stream Archive: New Nissan LEAF World Premiere".

400km range! Sold. And the active safety features and automation are mind blowing.
