Haven't experienced a curved monitor yet... can't really say.
Haven't experienced a curved monitor yet... can't really say.
I can't imagine many people buy screens three times the width of the programs they regularly use.
Curved definitely sounds like a good idea but when I bought my current 1920x1200 monitor in 2007 they weren't available. If they're still in fashion when I replace it then I'd certainly be interested in trying one.

Flat. We have one curved Samsung screen in work and it's a pointless thing to have. I actually tried to find a logical, sensible reason to go curved and came back with NOTHING.
It's marketing!
"Hey, sales are falling what shall we do?"
"How about curving the screen? We'll add marketing bull crap and sell a load!"
"Great idea"
Person sits at home, loving his curved screen, while not actually knowing if it actually does much of anything other than being curved.
Depends on the size of the panel. Samsung have a nice 42" 3840x1080 Curved Freesync panel which makes a lot of sense.
There is a reason why people with more than one panel angle them.
I've got a flat 34" - 3440 x 1440 monitor, it's nice, but if I had the money I'd buy the same size, curved and 144Hz.
I don't think 16:9 monitors would really benefit from curvature as much as ultrawides would.
Samsung released a 49" 32:9 monitor recently. I'd love one of those! It's essentially a 4K TV chopped in half. 3840 x 1080. (2160 / 2 = 1080)

First of all I'd love to avoid 16:9 if I could. 16:10 is a far better aspect ratio for monitors.
That being said, I prefer my monitor to be flat, although, unlike curved tv sets, curved monitors do have their merits. The one thing that mostly puts me off curved monitors is the difficulty of e.g. confirming the straightness of a line by eye. For me personally that would pose a problem at work when I'm designing dialogs.

This is the one I have and I'm very happy with it.
Jeez, I’d forgotten about that. Trinitron (sp?) tech for the flat screen CRTs! I think my 17” Viewsonic had that or a variant. The bees knees at the time.
To answer the question, it’d have to be a very large screen for me to consider a curve. Currently have a 27” iMac and I wouldn’t want it curved.

After playing on a friend's setup, I got a Predator X34A because I really enjoyed the more immersive feeling his setup gave in games. I'd had an LG monitor prior to that which developed a fault and couldn't be repaired, so the Predator was its replacement. I like it for gaming but for things like watching video and/or productivity, then I don't find it quite as compelling. The most recent monitor I bought was the LG 5K which is flat and I much prefer that for general use with my MacBook Pro. My PC rig with the X34A is mostly used as a Wintendo, now.
I've never been convinced by curved televisions, especially in households with multiple viewers where people sit around the screen at different viewing angles. For a monitor, where it's one person sitting directly in front of it, I think it makes more sense but the whole flat/curved screen issue does seem to be a bit of a 'Marmite' choice.

I bought a 55" curved Samsung TV for my bedroom and it's just perfect. The slight curve gives it a sense of immersion that lacked on the Beovision 8 44" previously on the same place.
Then I bought a 28" 4k Samsung monitor and i regret it's not curved. Great quality etc but I only use the PC for gaming and its not curved.

Curved ultra-wide. I could never go back to anything else
