EVGA, Noctua, both stellar service all round.
Saitek-MadCatz used to have excellent returns service, but only because their junk broke so often that they got very practiced at it.
Corsair can be exceptionally good, but otherwise they will ne attrocious. There's No middleground.
I hear Logitech are pretty awesome, but I've not needed to contact them about anything...

They seem to trust you, because they don't care if you do - Amazon can afford to do this because they're so massive and, even if you were to scam them, it's not even a drop in their ocean of profit.
I've had similar responses from them, but it felt very impersonal, as if they couldn't even be bothered to address me and my issues directly. Just a quick swap one for another, bam, next customer, keep the production line chugging..... You're not even a name to them, just a number. This is not customer service, it's just bouncing back ping requests.

By contrast, I've had very similar experiences with OCUK, but with proper contact and treatment as if I were a human. They can be stunningly good if you get the right people. If you spoke to Bailey or any of his reports, you'd find them bending over backwards to help. I believe he has moved on, though.

I have an experience with Scan. I ordered a load of parts very late on Thursday, with my free postage offer, and it arrived on Saturday instead of today, happy days already!

When I opened up the packages, I was missing the RAM, or at least I thought I was. I got onto Scan's Live Chat, was promptly told that they'll investigate it and then received a phonecall and an email at the same time.
The lady, Carrie, was very helpful and provided me with CCTV footage of where the RAM was in my parcel.

All done inside of 90 minutes. Sorted.

Paypal recently solved something for me in lightning quick time, on the phone with zero hassle and I have to admit... I never thought that would ever occur. But it did!

I would be worried by any company that has CCTV footage of its pickers and packers... Just how many issues do they get that necessitates such a measure??!!

Chancers, claiming it was missed from their order, in an effort to snag a freebie to flog on ebay, or return later for a refund? I'd imagine it happens often enough to warrant it.

I was helping an elderly friend get his Zen Internet mail account sorted out, and their customer support was very good and easy to get hold of.

Props also go to Sony, who replaced my noise-cancelling headphones with the next model up when I had to RMA.

Re: QOTW: Which tech companies excel at customer service?

I buy at least 90% of my components off Amazon UK, whenever I've had a problem with any of it I normally let Amazon know, but also the manufacturer on occasion. When the manufacturer couldn't help, I just copied over their comment to Amazon and received an immediate refund once I had returned the faulty part. More often than not, Amazon have not even requested that I contact the manufacturer first, just return to them and they will give me a refund less a small charge for prepaid postage. Noctua, yes the famed CPU cooler and fan manufacturer are also excellent, I needed a backplate for an AMD motherboard fitting. It arrived within a few days, cost to myself nothing. Aria PC in Manchester also have to be mentioned, bought some Corsair RAM from them opened it up and tried to install it. Too big for my system, I had a quite sizeable Noctua NH-U14S, complete with with NF-A15 140mm Fan. Contacted Aria, they were only too happy to replace it with Corsair's Vengeance LPX RAM at no extra cost.

Had great experiences with Logitech, Corsair (a bit slow to respond sometimes but good in general), NZXT, Razer.

I have never had an issue with Amazon or Scan but I know others that would say differently
