    A 600w GPU ?
    That can't be right
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

Doesn't mean it has to use the full headroom! Just more than 2x6 or 2x8 pins.

Got to be honest, the design/size of that gpu just seems 'off' imo. Yes we know it's supposed to be a power hungry chip but going from a 2 slot normal height to a 3 slot extra height card seems excessive.

It would fit within their historic business practices. It would seem they are actually fearful of AMD this time, now they are amplifying their proprietary practices.

I want to know how the 3090 stats is compared ot the 3080.... if it is heavy dropping down in the clock and such again like they did with the other disaster they made... some of you may remember the 680 and 690... both wonderfull assets and not to much sacrefice on the 690

That's the one common PSU connector that's *not* made by Molex, it's an AMP Mate-n-Lok. The ATX, EPS12v and PCIE connectors are all Molex Mini-Fit Jr.

If the prices are anywhere near correct (which I suspect they are not far off), then think I'll "struggle" on with my 1080ti for a while longer
    Live long and prosper.

Well yes - it's used generically like some others I can think of. Biro, Xerox, Hoover.....et al

you know it could be fun if AMD by all of sudden dish up a better alternative or just about at 1000 bucks...

I'll admit to those except for Xerox.

Do many in the UK actually say 'Xerox' instead of 'photocopy'? From what I gathered long after I was used to 'photocopy', Xerox was primarily used in the US and was originator (or populariser) of the technology, but I just never saw/heard their name used for that purpose here in the UK, so I'm not sure if it's just me or it's varied by areas.

Interesting note about the Molex though, I too had thought it was a generic term only referring to the 4-pin connector.

back in the day our office had a xerox machine, as did my uni even further back. We all just made photocopies and it was called a photocopier. Noone ever referred to it by brand name, except for when it stopped working and we had to call the repair company/figure out what toner module needed to be ordered.

There still something fishy going on here. Measure the length of the PCI-E connector on the newer card in the second image. It's significantly longer than that on the 2080 Ti.

I'm not doubting the design of the new cards, but that one has clearly been scaled up to make it look bigger.

Re: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 pictured: triple slot, 310mm long

I'll be curious to see which card this really is, and which market is aimed at.

There was a lot of speculation that the 3090 is really a Titan - and if so then that's probably not going to be a gaming focused card again which I wouldn't care about.
Much more interested in the 2080ti replacement tbh. Which this could also be of course...but the pricing is a bit off for that - $800 + tax + cost of UK business puts the 3080 it at around £1100 retail, or about what the 2080ti was. The 3070 is marked at $600 so thats about £850...

Like most things, even more post Brexit of course :*(

Of course that pricing is not confirmed either, but does seem to indicate either they are pushing the price boundaries up a level again (really hope not!) OR this 3090 is really a Titan and none of us should care.

Re: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 pictured: triple slot, 310mm long

Partner cards are going to have an option of going 10 or 20GB apparently.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
