Theyll be about as impossible to get ahold of but with any luck if they are using cut down 3070 chip rejects then they aren't lowering the supply of the other cards and will at least slightly reduce their demand.

TL: DR by page 2?
Hey as someone who used a gtx560ti until 2019 I have to disagree, the big thing I've noticed with graphics cards is when ever there's a next gen/architecture type thing, the 1st series to use it never hold up as well as the 2nd series, 1st series brings the shiny new features 2nd series brings much improved performance and longevity.
However it's not just the actual gpu chip supply that is the issue, but also all the other components on cards.
Has no one actually noticed that there's a major semi-conductor shortages atm?

I'm really surprised that this doesn't seem to be more widely reported on, it was back in start of 2020 with initial covid china lock downs hitting production and while production has picked back up, the initial shortage wave seems to still be traveling down the supply chain and covid has caused a large spike in electronics demand.
Just because graphics cards are the only thing to use these gpu's all the other components on the cards are also used by multiple other applications.

Well I still use a Gamecube.. but neither of us are probably playing the latest and greatest
Yes, I've mentioned the semi shortage in other threads and it is widely reported - the beeb had an article on it recently too. However it's not just the actual gpu chip supply that is the issue, but also all the other components on cards.

GPUs are by far the worst parts in terms of value for money,as they get outdated much quicker than all the other parts. A half decent CPU can last much longer than most GPUs.
Yet another overpriced card that nobody will be able to buy. perhaps they should get the supply going of existing cards before launching new ones.
It wouldn't be too bad if it stayed at RRP(although it seems just under £290 in USD with VAT added is more like £300 here),but its most likely to be much more than that!
OTH,it does appear again the mainstream market won't be moving forward that much. The RTX3060 looks around RTX2070/RX5700XT level, and the RX5700 was as low as £250 a year or so ago.
