QOTW: Do you use any PCIe slot other than primary x16?

Saying that I've got an NVMe drive in there as the slot under my motherboard causes my drive to moan about the temps, I might swap it for a cooler-running drive at some point and use that, just to free up the slot, for nothing...

So PC has 7 PCI-E x16 slots and have the following in them:

x1 Soundcard
x16 Graphics Card
x4 M.2 NVMe Adapter Card with 1x 1TB drive in it
x16 (x4x4x4x4) M.2 NVMe Adapter Card with 2x 1TB drives in it (room for 2 more later)

And this is the thing that is stopping me from upgrading, I want a platform that has enough slots to support all of those but it's not likely these days

i've always filled every slot in my pc's, from a 16k expansion pack on a zx81 to scsi cards, usb2 then usb3 cards and these days mostly sata/raid cards to add more drives. for sound it's either hdmi out or a usb to optical out if the machine doesn't have a spdif out on the mobo. i get a pc and keep upgrading/expanding it until it's unrecognisable

Used to have far more filled up once upon a time. Sound, TV, video (for video not graphics) RAID. Blimey those were the days.

USB3 card (mostly for another internal header, I use 4 in total).
Firewire card - still use firewire for transferring miniDV/digital 8 tapes etc.

Both NVME slots used, Boot and cache.

Further info 6 SATA ports used, 4 hard drives and 2 optical drives.

Got a capture card (hdmi) in work pc and a soundcard in music pc but that soundcard is the secondary one and mainly used as an easy way to loopback audio

I have a full ATX board which has 2 PCIe but only the top one is used for my graphics card which is dual slot. I do have 2 PCI slots and one of them has a wireless card in there but that's it. I know a lot of more recent boards have bluetooth and wireless built in now eliminating the need for cards and dongles.

Yes, x16 GPU, x4 USB expansion with 4 chips / 4 ports and an older PCI USB expansion expansion card providing 2/7.
