Almost my entire department are playing with it now

Agree with you TiG about it being one of the best things in tech for a long time. Awe-inspiring. Wonderful. Hopefully it will still be available for use when I get home tonight so I can show Mrs Fishcake and Fishcake Jnr

Can anoyone help me with Google Earth? I can't seem to zoom into detail anywhere near the closeness and detail as I have seen in screen shots, such as the Buckingham Palace one. How to i get images like that?

Been around for years, but yes ths is the first time anyone have put them all the world together and streamed it like this. It's stuning. Getting the whole world on your PC would take a lot of data. I have the whole of the UK on my PC's harddrive. Takes up about 15gigs, but the resolution is much better than Google Earth. Apart from major sites, like buckingham palace, which it not actually sat data but photo's from airplanes. The software i have uses OS map data to generate an extremely acurate 3D of the landscape. So you can have a 3d of anywhere, not just specifc area's. Place's like Snowdon look stunnig.

You really should stop looking for area 51

The Grand Canyon and New Zealand are pretty cool too.

    U can find area 51.

U can even view it at certain resolutions to get a general overview, but thats to about 4 notches below max.

One thing that confuses me is that in A51 theres a MASSIVE, really larger then half the complex, white blob.
