    I was playing with it earlyer, and there was almost no detail when zommed in any closer than one city convering the screen - not enough to make out where my street is let alone my house or anything.

    I remember nasa had a site which let you view anywhere, at a 1pixel/15meters which is a LOT higher res than on this.. which look like 1pixel/200meters or something.. They have probably limited it becuase they dont have infinite bandwidth

    I just got it, and can say it's good (better than that other 1), but you can't see any buildings in York .

    Mmm... can't get my copy running. My uni network uses http cache, so I think thats the problem. Can't find anywhere to change the settings though

    Found the reason why - you still need google's servers to authenticate, which they're not doing, so it's essentially useless downloading it from anywhere..

    I've just downloaded and installed it on my home computer from zdnet this morning - worked fine for me.
