    Perhaps they've opened up the authentication but removed the download the reduce the rate of increase in users. A bit like the whole Gmail invite thing.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Hey Air Base fans! try this site.

    You need to enter the coordinates in the format N01 01 W01 01.

    (or S and E, depending where the place is, but most (all?) of these are in mainland USA, so N and W).

    Absolutely awesome

    I love the directions features in particular, remember to go advanced in the options to speed them up a little.

    Hopes for the future?

    1. Dynamic adjustments of aspect and speed in the directions tour
    2. Higher resolution for the UK in particular

    This week's New Scientist has a nice article on Google Earth, particularly the privacy implications and what it means to get our view of the world from Google.

    This is the first thing on computers for some years that has really made my jaw drop. It was so good... Microsoft copied it 3 days later

    Used it for a journey to a new golf club tomorrow - see if I survive

    Interestingly, it recommended the same route I'd picked from a paper road atlas, rather than the convoluted routes suggested by multimap and the RAC. I just wish they'd get round to upping the resolution around Rugby, rather than random bits of the M1

    Greater coverage of Europe would be nice (it doesn't know where Mallorca is) and listing place name in a preferred language (the Balearics are in Spanish).
