Why does NVidia have to utilize absolutely massive PCBs? Last time with my 6800 it was just a few mm's shy of my hard drive, how do these compare, any bigger?

How come ATi can produce similar cards on much smaller PCBs?

I wasn't really comparing the 7800s to my 9600 - merely commenting on my poor old 9600! What I meant was that I don't remember the older cards e.g. the early Geforces being that big. Although, wasn't there some stupidly big Voodoo card?

Actually, that reminds me of this card: http://carcino.gen.nz/images/index.p...796d8/5e08eed6

they seem to be about the same size but don't quote me on that. ATI seem to be able to make smaller cards because of the lower amount of power circuity on the boards. wether this will be a problem with long term stability though is a different story.

Wow, those pics sure put it into perspective Tarinder, but if I might submit my own for comparison:

    Exhibit D: Realtek-based PCI NIC

    Note the bemusement.

The price is nothing with such a luring mystical layer of thing on the heatsink like that.

I say we have a useless compo to find the smallest PCI card ever.
