I'm holding a thread of hope that it will actually be not that bad!
They do seem to be listening to 'the fans', so maybe it does have half a chance, but I'm not holding my breath.

Movies based on games... hmm.
Street Fighter - terrible, despite Kylie and her bum being in it
Mortal Kombat - fortunately forgettable
Super Mario Bros. - Bob Hoskins' lowest hour
Resident Evil - Okay, but I might be biased cos of Milla Jovovich
Wing Commander - You'd think it being directed by the game's creator it'd be good, but you'd be wrong
Double Dragon - Oh dear god no....
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within - Was alright, actually... though bugger all to do with the game, really.
House of the Dead - An abject lesson in how to waste 90 minutes of your life... and hate yourself for it.
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - Not bad as long as you don't expect anything more than an updated Indiana Jones... with a nice set of 'Jolies' bouncing around the screen.
Alien Vs Predator - Based more on the comic than the game, included for the sake of the pedants and still not a patch on the action of Aliens.
On average, and being generous, films based on games are at best, average. What producers seem to keep forgetting is that the attarction and success of games is the fact they're something we actively participate in... films aren't...
Utterly hillarious film.
lmao, the game wasnt great, now this!!!! The monsters in the game look better, and that team didnt seem to know what they were doing lol
