BBFC let the cat out of the bag for X360

If you were quick, and if you were sad enough, you might have seen that Microsoft have submitted the X360 to the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) for rating.

Now why would they do that?

Probably because the X360 will be shipping with content pre-loaded on the hard drive, which was exactly what it was.

The submission page is still up on the BBFC website, X360 page, but now the actual contents of what was in there have been taken down.

Luckily for us, Eurogamer managed to get the gen on the next-gen, so either have look at Eurogamer or take it from that there's 22 files of rouhgly 3-5 minutes long featuring music videos, musci and short movies.

On top of that there's a 23 minute long video titled 'DVD OF A GAME'... which is most likely to be a dirty great trailer for everything coming out on the X360 in the near future.

The fact that Microsoft are shipping the X360 with content pre-loaded only serves to reinforce the belief that MS are targetting the X360 as a home media system... with the pre-loaded content they're hoping to demonstrate the console's abilities to those who think consoles are just for games...

This is further reinforced when you consider that unlike the X-Box, the X360 will be usable as a DVD player straight out of the box with no need to buy any extra bits...

Whats the reckoning on the short videos being game promos?

Something along the lines of "Still Seeing Breen" but for xbox360 games with the big trailer being for xbox live or how to set up something?

Sounding a lot better for the supporters of the Xbox 360 camp. This way everyone will be able to demo the awesome features of the system out-of-the-box. Seems like Microsoft have everything covered, from immediate access to media, to immediate access to Xbox Live Silver. Go 360!

I'd say Bill Gates and team wants the console market.

    Period!

To be honest Zak, that wouldn't be as bad as many people (read: "fanboys") think it would be. What other company as the financial power to provide what its consumers want, even if they make a loss?

Whether they do it or not, however, is an entirely different matter

Just wish that more good games were coming out soon for it instead of Call of Duty 2 lol. Prey looks good as well as WarDevil.
