Halo and Halo 2 benefit from Xbox 360 hardware

In a news post on their website, Bungie, the developers behind the Halo series have announced that both games are backwards compatible with the Xbox 360 but more than that, gamers will see an improvement in the graphics when runnig either game on the new console.

Surely that should be forwards compatible. Backwards compatible would mean the game came out after the 360 on newer hardware, but would still work on the 360.
