Thanks for your comments - between us we have resolved it, well almost!

I can now play the downloaded files from their download location although I now have the minor irritation of not being able to login to Sky by Broadband. I've emailed them asking to release me as it thinks I'm trying to login from a different PC.

    FYI I did the following:-

    1. Uninstalled .Net Framework 2.0 - didn't resolve the issue.
    2. Reinstalled Win MP 10 - still didn't resolve the issue.
    3. Uninstalled .Net Framework 1.1 - could now play the downloaded files but obviously could not login as SbB requires this application.
4.Uninstalled and re-installed SbB which also installed .Net Framework (including the latest update). Could still play the previously downloaded files but now couldn't login to SbB as mentioned above.

The key stage appears to have been uninstalling all versions of .Net Framework as I had previously re-installed Win MP 10 without success.

I'm now looking forward to improved resolution - the movie is not too bad but the sports files are less than good.

Signing off now to watch the Superbowl.

    Brian,

I'd like to have a tenner for every bit of software that I've had to jump through the hoops for in an attempt to get it working (not always succeeding, mind).

Truth is, I'm now rather pleasantly surprised when any program actually works after the initial install.

    Sad but true.

I have just purchased a new PC and I would like to transfer my SKY by Broadband from my old PC. Any advice would be very welcome please.

I've never had to do this and can't see anything on the Sky by broadband FAQ page.

I'd suggest calling on 0870 609 4508 (national rates apply) and see if anyone has a sensible answer.

If you're kept waiting too long for comfort, you can ask this question via their web site here.

Thanks Bob. I have asked for info as you suggested. Let's see how long it takes to get a reply!

    Wink Free Sky Broadband

just been readin' bbc's media blog. Nikki's Top tip: sign up sky's Free Broadband service. I missed out last time when d carphone launched and now there so many orders that the service isn't available to migrate until September!
The free sky broadband offer seems to good to be true but had a quick read of the terms & everything seems ok. Just need to be a Sky Customer and get 10mb free broadband! cool but best be quick!

Sky by Broadband is gonna be huge now me finks.

    Nikki,

I'm guessing (perhaps unfairly) that the link you include is to your own site.

    Care to comment?
