    Apple to announce iPhone today?

Today is the start of Apple's five-day-long Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco where the company's CEO Steve Jobs is expected to unveil a swathe of new products in his keynote speech.

Likely announcements include the immediate availability of a selection of top-end Macs using various versions of Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs and, so the rumour-mill says, an Apple mobile phone - the iPhone.
    More in this HEXUS.headline.

    LOL

I can't wait to see the detailed technical information and information regarding headphone connectivity.

The last thing we want is another propriatory connection so the headphones would cost more than normal ones to replace if broken or damaged.

The rumour-mill was wrong in the iPhone's case, by the way.

    iPhone.. scratch
    Conroe based iMacs? scratch
    Merom MBP's? scratch..

Apparently a bunch of stuff got bumped until next month, possibly down to legal wranglings over the video iPod, and lack of inventory for iMac and MBP updates..

    ho hum..

Apple Mac Pro shows solution to Intel's memory-cooling problem

The one product that was introduced, though, the Mac Pro, has dual Xeons and looks like it might have done Intel a favour by showing it is possible to keep FB-DIMMs cool without a whole lot of stupidly noisy fans.

At least, that's our assumption, cos it can take 16GB's worth of those DIMMs!

Check out today HEXUS.hardline, Apple Mac Pro shows solution to Intel's memory-cooling problem.

There might be the odd stealth speed bump here and there, but most of the Apple sites are betting on the Mac Expo in Paris next month for the Consumer-based releases

apple compete well in the ugly computer and mp3 player markets but the mobile market is full of decent looking phones so iphone would have to be immaculate... i don't see it myself...
