looks great! i also love the hexus animation at the beggining! reminds me of the pixar one.
Those 40 seconds of video have almost tempted me to get a PS3
I'll eat my hat if these are in-game (i.e. not pre-rendered) shots...

they look like cg to me, so if they are ingame, im very impressed (and i hate the idea of the ps3 too)
A few of those clips looked almost life-like. Very impressive, but I'd imagine they're pre-rendered as most of these trailers tend to be.
thats ingame peeps. and unless im mistaken its all taken from the demo that the rest of the world are happily enjoying

it may be from a replay camera, but they always look better than the ingame shots anyway. I tend to only trust in game shots where you can see the hud, too many untrustworthy devs

Haha, i love how PS3 fan boys always post screenshots as if that proves a point that somehow magically PS3 software devs have managed to make teh 78/900GTX better than the R500 (aka early R600 prototype...)
Nice car though
Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 3.2Ghz (400Mhzx8) 1.52V (set in bios, 1.47v real) | 4GB GeIL PC6400 4-4-4-12 | Gigabyte DQ6 @ 1600Mhz | HD2900XT 1GB | Enermax Infiniti 720W | Silverstone TJ07-B with custom watercooling | BenQ FP241WZ
3dmark05 - 13140 | 3dmark06 - 6698 | SuperPi 1M - 15s
so the top one is ingame, which imo doesnt look as good as the video
but why wow at a low-def compressed video?
wow if you really can powerslide like that video seems to show, but not at those as demonstrative graphics.
PS yes - I'll still be getting a PS3 anyway
if your referring to me i would read some of my previous Sony slating's before making the usual childish comments.
and what is this about the graphics cards? Is it because GTHD is looking better than PRG3? and rather than thinking that perhaps the 360 is capable of games that look better in the future you think theres no way the ps3 can look as good as it is?

Looks pretty. I know it's unlikely to happen but could we talk about the GAME, not the console it's on... maybe? just once?
I honestly believe its in-game footage.. give it a rest fellas..
GT has always been one of the, if not the best looking racing game during its time, on every release.
If anyone can prove otherwise, then please go ahead.
The only one that ever came close was Forza, which I admit was a very good game.
GT4 till date, for me at least, still looks magnificent and figures how you crunch that kind of textures out from that aging PS2.
....... Now, having mentioned GT's strengths, there are alot of things I can rant about it. One of which involves the driving mechanic. It is rather forgiving, for cars that drives that fast. And calling it a Real Driving Simulator pushes further from that fact...
Perhaps its just for general public acceptance, not everyone likes challenging driving games where you spend 90% of the time kissing the wall.. This logic applies similarly to Colin McRae series and the very very good Richard Burns Rally game... dumbed down driving is alot more fun to play for most ppl...

ExceedGoku:
There are plenty of examples where the hardware doesnt always matter.
Take Xbox for example, it has hardware specs 7 times (as shown then by Xbox to hype it up) faster than PS2, yet alot of AAA titles from PS2 often looks equal if not better than AAA titles on the Xbox.
PGR2 on Xbox versus GT3 is an excellent example..
or DOA3 versus say Tekken 4/5...
While we're at this, the RSX can be anything, just like the Xenon, those specs are what Microsoft and Sony tells you, it could be entirely something else rather than a 7900esque GPU..
...... All in all, GT HD and GT5 will continue to be one of the better racing games around for the general public. Perhaps not for me, unless I want some easy competition, but its a very accessible sim for not-so-hardcore driving fans. And its graphics is just additonal icing on the cake..
Me want Ultrabook
wow... all that power in the PS3, and they still need to use sprites for the crowds :/
