rubbish - the ONLY PS3 I'm interested in is the 20GB version (I have a wired network throughout the house and enough memory card readers that I couldn't care less about having one in a console)... looks like I'll be waiting "dependent on demand"...

I'd say a HDTV is a great purchase as there aint much point having PS3/360 without HD

And why don't we get Madden 07 (it's already out in the US)? Judging by the Wii version, it's likely to be the only game for a while that makes decent use of the Sixaxis...

And MotorStorm - scheduled for a US release of March 6th...

I don't think many people will be buying the ps3 at the launch.
Price is too high; and doesn't have as many good titles as xbox 360; blu-ray is not the only next gen movie/video format.

i disagree - you get 90% of the impact from a sd tv, and if you sit far enough away you wouldnt notice any difference at all.. additionally hd tvs are dropping in price like nothing else - whereas a console will keep *rougly* the same price for a year or 2 (maybe dropping 30% of cost over 2 years - an hd tv will possably drop up to 60%). if you're getting one now and the other in a years time, you'd probably get more milage from the ps3 first

I predict a lot of boxes sat on shelves once the die hards have got there's...

Dammit - I was gonna get a whole bunch pre-ordered and then flog them to muppets on ebay for hyper-inflated prices.

lol - PS3 fanboy gets in a huff cos the model he wants isn't available and then can't read the rest of the article properly...

btw - I appreciate that I can just buy the US version of Madden...

I guess I'd happily pay 300-350 for the 20Gb model, but want a UK machine for Blue-ray compatibilty (I'm sure that'll come in somewhere down the line)

no, they are not. the retail price is £210 - 49,800 yen. yeah thats a hike in price, but even if you imported it yourself (legally) and paid the vat/duties/postage, you'd be looking at the wrong side of £300.

Actually no I disagree with that totally. Having played plenty of games in HD and SD side by side, HD looks much better. For example PES 6 looks AWFUL on SD, but nice on HD.

If you have next gen gaming systems then buying a HDTV for them to make them play like they're supposed to is almost a must imo, even if it's a PC monitor.

Otherwise you spending £700-800 (360 + PS3) and don't have the ability to play them at what they are supposed to play

Not one for me, I simply don't have the money, I spent £500 on a gaming PC 18 months ago and I have a Wii so no real need for me.

Hopefully it will sell well as we all want competition in the market. But if it doesn't sell well, thats fine too since maybe people will start to see that they can't keep ripping us off.
