    I'm not that surprised, it's taken the performance crown, and as a result demands a premium that isn't in proportion to the extra performance.

    Pretty sure this is always how it's been, and the price doesn't shock me that much either, look at the 8800 ultra when that first came out, I think that was a similar price.

    Not always - 290X entered as (and still is for a lot of games) the fastest card on the market, but is cheaper than either of the top two (now three) Nvidia cards.

    Ah. Thank you. So, just need AMD to sort their CPU's out. Wonder if the new APU's will have all those goodies. They really should push all the info they can.

    Yeah Trinity and Richland already have the Video Codec Engine, despite being based on VLIW4 rather than GCN.
