8 GB for £85 offering the best GB-per-£? You can get 8GB for half that now

It wasn't any better for higher capacities:

12 GB for £150, which is more than 32 GB of flashy RGB stuff costs
Funny that, picking overpriced ultra high performance RAM to compare to low end RAM today to disagree. I've just checked my amazon order history and just shy of 10 years ago I spent £141.98 for 32GB DDR3-1600 RAM. Like for like*, that's DDR4-3200/3600 Now. A quick amazon check now looks like the cheapest DDR4-3200 is £150

*Fastest supported RAM speeds for DDR3 were 1333 for Sandy Bridge, 1600 for Ivy bridge. Rocket lake and Anything by AMD support DDR4-3200 officially.

Both reviews are for 1600? If you want faster modern stuff then scan has 32 GB of 3200 for £130:
    https://www.scan.co.uk/products/32gb...20-20-38-xmp-2

In all the reviews of that period Parm talks about budget stuff going for £10/GB (e.g. referring to £40 4GB kits in the dual channel roundup and £60 for 6GB triple channel). Do you have any actual evidence to show?

Ok let me be clear. I checked my orders before posting from amazon to make sure I wasn't going mad. Hence the very precise price. I cannot be arsed to work out how to take a screenshot and host the image somewhere to post in this forum. The order was placed September 2012. So 9 years ago.
So we still have a situation where modern RAM is only slightly cheaper than it's vastly more expensive to manufacture Equivalent from 9 years ago. These corrections have absolutely no effect on the point being made nor affect the discussion in any way.

    Happy now?

Re: PowerColor Radeon RX 6600 XT Red Devil

Got myself a Sapphire Nitro+ 6600XT, the Red Devil one was £20 more and honestly the extra for the RGB is overkill.
