Hi all,

Creating a thread to see who would be interested in meeting up for the Airbourne 2014 show in Eastbourne?

Information about the show is in the link above, including how to get there. It's free to attend, goes on from Thursday 14th August until Sunday 17th and is on from around 9am to 5pm (although most of the good stuff is in the afternoon, I will get a programme as soon as I can to share the info). I have been for the past couple of years, it's a great show, and since people are posting that they are upset about the prices of Farnborough, why not come down and check it out?

If we are doing this as a Hexus.social event, I would have thought we make it Saturday 16th to make it easier for as many people to attend, as people normally work Mon-Fri, although if that doesn't suit I can pretty much do any day.

I would suggest a meeting place of the entrance to the pier (http://www.eastbournepier.com/), pub lunch or dinner at The Duke of Devonshire (http://www.dukeofdevonshireeastbourne.co.uk/) and go from there. What does everyone think?

If anyone has any other suggestions, let me know, or if you have any questions about Eastbourne give me a shout (I currently live about 5 miles down the road).

Anyone else? Ideas for which day? I believe Saturday would be best, still up for debate though.

Either of the weekend days would be fine with me. Not much info on what planes/displays are on each day yet that I can find

Yeah, apart from the Red Arrows confirmed flying at 16:00 on Thursday and Friday, 13:45 on Saturday and 12:00 on Sunday, nothing else has been announced yet. However, programmes are available early August, so as soon as I get mine delivered, I'll let people know.

My Mum's just sent me some pics of Eastbourne pier with a raging fire on it Not sure if it's going to affect Airbourne.

airbourne will go ahead just sadly without the pier - fire crews called around 3pm - was totally ablaze at about 4.

I would like to, I've kept the day clear, but realistically if my arm isn't up to it, I won't be able to. I hopefully will know closer to the time!

Looks like Saturday is the best option for most people, let's set it at that.
