    I bought a new saucepan !

    and it cost £68 !!

    Anolon Advanced Sauté pan, 30cm.

My missus will do her nut when she sees it, it enormous Mind you, I paid for it out of my onw account so she can't really complain. See - we've just had a new kitchen installed (£8k) and I really wanted to update my cookware too, so I spent £60 on some Sabatier lookalikes, £30 on whole spices and dried herbs, £12 on a wooden chopping board, £32 on a new omelette pan, and finally this whopping great sauté pan. (£202 !!)

I think I've spent enough this week..... anyone else do daft things like this ?
    Cheers, David

    £68 on a saucepan? *faints*

Whats so special about such an expensive saucepan!

Or did you just want it because you can?

Oh come one now, you can't go boasting about your new £68 saucepan and not put any pictures up! Maybe an action shot in the kitchen...

our top of the range dualit toaster arrives in the morning, the wife wanted it.. she eats toast about twice a year, and one of those times was this weekend through guilt i think..

£150 for a flipping toaster.. and thats £50 less than most places sell them for !!!

good job i like toast and toasties..

Man, thats an expensive toaster. And pan.

After I move into my new flat I intend to buy a nice knife (or set) and a good chopping board (wood or granite). I am sure they are going to be somewhat expensive.

I think I've got one very similar and It's blessed! Anything you cook in it is a success.

It's just very big, flat bottomed and straight sided, really good construction, heavily built with non-stick that actually works and doesn't peel straight off. And you can do anything in it from frying bacon to cooking stews curries etc. It also makes a great Paella pan and we use it instead of a wok for Stir Frying. I Love it

Great purchase g8ina, If the missus gives you a hard time for it cook her something incredible to show off it's magic powers. (I think I've been reading too much Harry Potter).
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.

DON'T get granite !! Get wood, much kinder to the blade edges...

Aye, that's the jobbie.... pic to come later when the Thai Red Curry is cooked - I'll show it in all it's glory.

    I bought it because :
    * I needed to cook larger dishes, and none of my existing pans were big enough
    * It has the latest non stick stuff, and most of my old pans have been knackered by misuse (by others) (not that anyone else is allowed to even touch the new one !)
    * I'm a huge cookery fan and cook every day, the right tools for the job make it that much more fun
    * It will last forever
    * I could afford it today, but maybe wouldn't be able to next week !

    Cheers, David

We have a full set of Analon pans at home and they are just the nuts. Take a hell of a lot of punishment too. Just don't dishwasher them. My brother found himself in terrible trouble after that.

well first off i couldnt help but compare that to buying a new computer and wanting to upgrade the software...im very sorry but i had to do it, now onto the topic, i like the look of that toaster but personaly wouldnt pay 150 for one, im looking more into the range of something that does the job for say...10 or 15 but id definately buy that saucepan if it truely does equal sucess in every dish, specialy because im not the greatest cook
