Bought a P5B by mistake! Keep or get rid?

I've accidentally bought a standard Asus P5B motherboard off ebay by mistake. Although I'd decided to wait until after xmas to buy bits for my new PC, I'd been bidding on stuff on ebay just putting in silly low bids hoping I might be able to bag a bargain. Anyway, I wasn't concentrating and I put in a higher price than I meant to for this and...well....I bought it.

I had been planning originally to get a P5B Deluxe WiFi, so what I want to know is, will I notice any difference in performance? I'm planning to overclock an E6400, although not drastically. I'm aware that the plain P5B is lacking WiFi and Firewire, but I think I've got a spare PCI WiFi card hanging around, and I can pick up a cheap firewire PCI card if I need it. It's just that some people on the interweb have suggested that the plain P5B doesn't overclock very will at all in comparison to its deluxe cousin.

I know I could just stick it back on ebay again and flog it again for a small loss, but if I won't notice a difference is it worth it?

Have you already got the board?...if the seller hasnt sent it, ask him if you can back out and pay his listing fees, its worth a try.

I'll try it. I only realised I'd bought it just before I was due to go to Scotland for the weekend, thought 'sod it, I'll send the money anyway', and then had to go off. About 10 minutes later I realised I didn't want it, but couldn't get to a PC to do anything about it until today. Knowing my luck, he'll be the only decent seller on ebay and will have posted it already!!

Anyway, assuming I will receive it will I notice a difference? I'm quite interested anyway because all the reviews I've seen are for the Deluxe and the plain is hardly mentioned anywhere.

Cheers, that is helpful. I'm not that bothered about losing out on the extras as long as it will overclock to an acceptable level. I'm hoping to get at least 3Ghz out of an E6400, but if having the plain P5B will make that a pain in the a**e then I'll get rid.

Well if there is only one, it can't be him, I sold 3 items yesterday, and the two that were paid this morning were on their way from a main PO at lunch time ...................... LOL!

    Good luck.....
