I used to do cheesey chips all the time, very simple, you get lots of potatoes, cut them into chips, deep fry and chuck a load of cheese on top. By the time the cheese has melted the chips are cool enough to eat. Perfection in a bowl.

Or a very simple salad dressing can be made from vinager and olive oil mixed 50/50 (or if you have some, balsamic vinager) add a little herb of your choice (oregano etc) and drizzle over some fresh salad leaves with sliced mixed peppers and chopped onion, again, lovely and, this time, healthy!!!

    Dear Bertie

There is no bigger sign of raw male heterosexuality than tuckin into a feed of cheesy chips, as a real red blooded mans man I find your remarks deeply upsetting. I would prefer it if you kept your intolerant views regarding cheesy chip eaters to yourself in future. One can only guess how many cheesy chip lovers had their sexuality looked upon with suspicion, how many families have been torn apart and how many chip vans have went out of business in light of your unprovoked and ignorant attack on our community.

    Yours Sincerely

Mince, salsa and fajitas. Nice and easy and quick. Alternatively pasta (spag goes well with this one), tuna, tinned tomatoes and chilli flakes.

cold baked beans, minimal effort. And if you get the expensive ones with a ring pull then you don't even need to find a tin opener. And as they don't need to be refrigerated you don't even need to unpack you shopping, just don't that Tesco bag next to the couch and you have your tasty meal...

    cheesy chips - genetically aussie!

chilli cheese baked beans on toast - healthy dose of crushed chilli (to taste - not enough to burn through your face) in your baked beans, let it cook through, and add cubed cheddar to melt through.
    Lovely!
Great, tasty quick snack. Still quite starchy, but an excellent wintery snack.
Alternatively, make yourself a nice bruschetta -
Diced chilled tomatos, chop up some basil, add a little pepper, olive oil, crushed garlic - maybe some chopped olives too - mix well, and spead thickly over toasted ciabatta sliced in half, or over lightly toasted baguette chopped down the length.
