    Mango Juice thread

I love Mangoes and I am proud to say that I am a mango juice connoisseur. I have tasted mango juice from different brands and countries and here I present to you my findings :

    AL MARAI / From - SAUDI ARABIA / Spotted in UK - NO / Rating - 10/10
Creamy and tastes of real mangoes, perhaps it's down to the fact that they use Indian Alphonso mangoes and the mango puree content is quite high. In my experience, This is the NO.1 MANGO JUICE IN THE WORLD!

    SUNCREST / From - UK / Available in UK - YES / Rating - 2/10
Used to be good. Now it's too diluted

    MASAFI / From - UAE / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 3/10
Creamy but tastes of raw mangoes.

    ASANI / From - UK / Available in UK - YES / Rating - 1/10
    Diluted flavoured water. AVOID

    BEST / From - UK / Available in UK - YES / Rating - 3/10
A bit creamy but it has a sharp tang of raw mangoes

    CAPRI SONNE / From - UK / Available in UK - YES / Rating - 1/10
Part mango. It's mixed with apple and grape juice. And, even then it's too diluted

    DEL MONTE / From - SAUDI ARABIA / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 5/10
Sweet mango juice with ripe mango chunky bits

    DIMES / From - TURKEY / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 1/10
    Diluted flavoured water. AVOID

    DRINHO / From - INDONESIA / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 1/10
    Diluted flavoured water. AVOID

    ENJOY / From - Egypt / Available in UK - YES / Rating - 5/10
Tasty and also along the lines of UAE's Mazaa. Only problem with this I have noticed is that you cannot drink it on an empty stomach. You must have food shortly after drinking this, otherwise you get diarrhoea! Not sure why, just not sure. Because of this, I am knocking off a few points!

    FRESCA / From - India / Spotted in UK - NO / Rating - 7/10
Tastes different , could have been better

    FROOTI / From - India / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 2/10
    Awful

    FROOTO / From - Bangladesh / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 0/10
Absolutely no real mangoes are used and it's complete man made chemicals with sugar

    JUHAYNA / From - Egypt / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 2/10
Creamy but the juice is quite gray in colour and doesn't taste that good either

    JUST JUICE / From - UK / Available in UK - YES / Rating - 3/10
Tastes of raw mangoes but can be consumed chilled to lessen the raw taste

    KDD MANGO JUICE / From - Kuwait / Spotted in UK - NO / Rating - 5/10
This was the best mango juice in the world, due to the higher concentration of mango pulp. Due to change in the formula, now it's just dilute and I struggled to drink it

    LIBBY'S / From - Egypt / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 6/10
    Tasty but not quite there

    MAZAA / From - UAE / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 9/10
Spotted in some South Indian / Asian shops

    MAZAA / From - Belgium / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 4/10
Their mango juice is mixed with Grape and lemon juice!?!

    MAZAA / From - India / Spotted in UK - NO / Rating - 7/10
    Meh!

    Re: Mango Juice thread

Me & my fridge had a bad feeling the minute I saw this thread, and sure enough..

Mind you it has been sitting there unloved a week past its 'drink once open' date, maybe that says something.

Am I reading correctly you found most/all of these in the UK originally then, or are you some sort of mango juice tourist

/edit, I would never have voluntarily posted in cookery! this thread is eminently GD-able imo, now it will likely just die a miserable death

    Re: Mango Juice thread

I'm very partial to a mango smoothie. This consusts of banana, orange, apple, ice cubes and, of course, mango. And NOTHING else. Then blend.

It's healthy, nutritious and as, a minute before I start drinking it, it was fruits, it's certainly fresh. Yummy.

.... None of these studies specifically looked at the health benefits or otherwise of fruit smoothies, which are a relatively recent phenomenon, nor did they look at the impact of different types of juice - for instance, whether it was freshly squeezed or from concentrate, home-made or shop-bought. I would assume, for example, that drinking a home-made vegetable smoothie is going to be a lot better for you than a commercial fruit smoothie ....
I'm not talking about using either juice or concentrate. I'm talking about using the fruit itself. Note he also talks about where, in the fruit, the nutrition is concentrated, and hence peeling the fruit. Well, that depends on the fruit. Bananas and oranges get peeled, but mangoes, apples, pears etc get used whole, peel, and all, and while I remove the mango pitt, apple and pear seeds, etc, stay in and get blended.

And while I'm very partial to mango smoothies, mostly, I do "green" smoothies which, yes, have fruit (say banana and pineapple) but also includes spinach, brocolli, etc.

But again, I'm talking about home-made smoothies that, minutes before drinking, were fruit. Or vegetables. No unknown extras, no saccarine-type sugars, no preservatives, etc.

    Re: Mango Juice thread

This reminds me of a one random time while I was in my local Tesco, a white gentleman came up to me and said "You appear to be a man of Indian origin, could you please recommend me a mango juice?!".

My reaction was "O_o.....O.K. let's have a look!" haha, and oh yeah he thought the Rubicon one was terrible too .

I guess that's where you want a killer Brian Sewell impression, and start talking Earl Grey & cucumber sandwiches.

    e-LAN-go, long time no see

(btw have just noticed a hexus member lethalMango over in networking & broadband, so there is something worse than Rubicon...)

    ORIGINAL / From - Saudi Arabia / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 8/10
Another very good juice. Also tastes like UAE's Mazaa.

    PRAN / From - Bangladesh / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 0/10
Just plain bad. Definitely think it's all sugar and mango flavour and no mangoes used!

    RANI FLOAT / From - Saudi Arabia / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 5/10
Rani float is a unique type of mango juice as it has fruit bits in it ! Very tasty indeed. Unfortunately, it turns out that they use peac bits instead of mango bits !!!

    REGEL / From - UK / Availlable in UK - YES / Rating - 2/10
    Tastes bad, raw mangoes used!

    RUBICON / From - UK / Available in UK - YES / Rating - 4/10
Top selling mango juice in the country. Was always horrible. Too diluted and tastes as if raw mangoes were used but excess amount of sugar is used to cover this up

    SAFA / From - UAE / Spotted in UK - NO / Rating - 7/10
    Creamy and very tasty.

    SHEZAN / From - Pakistan / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 1/10
Just plain awful. Doubt if they use any mangoes!

    SLICE / From - India / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 9/10
The best mango juice in India

    SUNPRIDE / From - UK / Availlable in UK - YES / Rating - 3/10
Tastes acceptable while chilled. But, it's dilute in my opinion

    TROPICANA / From - Lebanon / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 9/10
Tasty indeed. Very difficult to find in the UK.

    TWIST / From - Egypt / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 8/10
Near perfection in a bottle. Highly recommended

    TYMBARK / From - Poland / Spotted in UK - YES / Rating - 1/10
Water + sugar + mango flavouring. Too diluted!
