It seems to be more sensitive to storage conditions etc. than other beers - I've had it in some pubs and its been absolutely lovely, and in others it's tasted like antifreeze. Maybe I'm just going to the wrong pubs!

Nice, but it's seriously headache inducing in my experience.

Used to drink this along time ago in Belgium before it hit the trendy bars a couple o years back.

Fantastic drink, but like stated has to be in the right conditions.
As for headaches no worse than Kronenberg (sp?) or Stella with Cognac.

Hoeggarten is more prone to going 'bad' because it has all the bits shoved back in it It's like any pint, stored too warm or served underpressure, it kinda suck a**.

Agreed. This beer has the power to make a grown man lie in bed all down with the duvet over his head and turn his stomach over

No. I can chug gallons of the 'gaarten and not feel a thing. Fantastic drink.

Almost as good as Badger's Golden Victory.

Sorry but I've actually grown fond of Budweiser ICE at the moment and it doesn't cause me any "issues" the day after as well

The only place I know that sells Hoegaarden locally is a pub in the Trafford Centre that wants nearly 3 QUID for a pint for a "not so good" quality pint.
