    Looking for decent Juicer/Smoothie maker

Heya, was hoping people here could direct me to a decent contraption that would act as both a juicer and smoothie maker. I really need to eat more fruits, (five a day and all) and I have tried the Innocent smoothies but far too expensive and dont really think they are as good as people make them out to be.

Also would be a good way to get my two girls to drink more healthy stuff compared to the junk they put in juice nowadays, caprisun,(pure)juice etc.

First hand experiences would be very helpful.

Bought a cheapo blender one on sale for the restaurant (was £29.99) from Debenhams, it was noisy and after a week's use it started to leak - that base of the container (with the blades) comes off and the seal would wear down over use.

In the end, went to Selfridges and bought one for £109.99. Absolute gem. Materials are thick and sturdy. Runs REALLY quiet (unlike the one mentioned above), and has 5 speed settings. Can't recall the brand name, I'll check tomorrow and get back to you on it.

Thanks alot proplus, thats really handy considering I work in Selfridges. It must be a good juicer/smoothie maker considering you use it in your restaurant, so is open to more wear and tear than it would receive in a household environment.

    Thanks again.

This new one is really sturdy, the base itself is very heavy with good rubber 'feets' so pushing it across the marble bar top is an effort.

I make about 50 fresh fruit drinks out of it every day, when someone orders one their friends tend to order another, so after making each drink I have to rwash and rinse it immediately to make another.

We originally wanted it break ice for drinks, this baby cuts the ice so far the ice becomes slush.

You are making my mouth water.... Funnily enough my obsession with getting a juicer was after visiting a restaurant in birmingham and decided to go with a freshly sqeezed apple juice. When I tasted it I couldn't believe how good a freshly sqeezed apple juice tasted compared to even your top of the line apple juice from supermarkets.

I was pretty much sold after that. Awaiting the name of the juicer.

We use that one at work, to make smoothies, it is a real heavy duty industrial one. I think its a bit much for home use.

btw, thanks for the help proplus!
