What's currently the BEST mobo and DDR3 RAM for a Phenom II X4 955BE?

Decided to sell my current AM2+ mobo/DDR2 RAM and Phenom II x4 940BE and
upgrade to the AM3 /DDR3 platform.

Considering the following mobo:

GigaByte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P

Like the fact it has 10 x SATA ports and gives me the option of overclocking,
perhaps at some stage in the future.

Want something to last at least a couple of years before the next upgrade.

Is this currently the best AM3 mobo avail?

Also please can you recommend the best value/performance DDR3 RAM to use
i.e. good performance and value rather than cutting edge performance and
silly money?

Shame you are specifying AM3 (much as I like AMD processors).

looks pretty good - only 6 sata ports, but it has 4 SAS ports.

It is difficult to recommend a 'best' without specifying what it will be used for. Or defining what you mean by 'best'! Many have different features and it depends which ones are important to you.

However if you are after the 'best', it seems a little pointless to go for lower performance peripheral components such as memory.

multitask
loads of video encoding
etc
basically most things except games

I would keep the 940. AM3 I reckon has two years in it; except hex-cores I'm not sure theres much more to come. I coul dbe wrong.

955 vs 940; I would be happy with either.
