Regarding RAM,Scan is not a great choice for Ryzen compatible RAM as they stock Corsair mostly, which can be more of a lottery with regards to the chips used. What you ideally want to aim for is Samsung B-die containing kits. Corsair Vengeance kits can be Micron,Hynix or Samsung chips, and ideally you would want Samsung B-die,followed by Micron chips. AFAIK,Hynix is the worst type for compatibility,ie,its going to be more BIOS dependent on whether these can work properly. Also single ranked RAM is preferable to dual ranked RAM.
I started a thread with some links to help people find the relevant kits:

Thanks for that, appreciated. That chart/RAM finder thingy is really cool.
I'm ideally looking for a 32GB kit 2x16GB. And a recommendation from someone who is running it on one of the Ryzen 7s yes I know. That's too much, you're wasting your money etc etc I have a RAM fetish.
PS I'm trying to answer the administrator who I was talking to here https://forums.hexus.net/hexus-sugge...ml#post3997721 but it won't let me post. Anyone know why?
As Cat pointed out Samsung B-die is an ideal choice, having said that what motherboard is it going in? Most manufactures publish QVL's (qualified vendor lists) for memory and while most memory works with most boards QVL's are what the manufacture has actually tested and probably coded the timings for into the BIOS so take out a lot of the guesswork.
A Gigabyte AX370 Gaming 5
I've looked at the approved list but there is nothing above 16GB. I'm editing & running VMs so I'm looking to get a dual channel 32GB kit (2x16)
Approved memory lists for this board here

Slightly Off-topic but if you plan to OC that memory then you should try Ryzen DRAM Calculator.

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)
Worth checking the QVL list on your motherboard manufacturer - I ran into a few issues trying to run 64gb at 3200mhz.
tools are available to manufacturers to change BIOS values. and you can do
that

I was just about to plunge on a ryzen 2600 and some corsair vengence pro ram, lucky I saw this! I never knew compatibility between cpu and ram was a thing...
Hello First time posting
I live in UK and my new Aero 15.6" Gigabyte AERO 15-XA, 4K UHD, AMOLED, i7 9750H, 16GB DDR4, 512GB NVMe SSD, 8GB GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q is coming today. If I want it during the first 14 days during which you have the right to return it even if there is no fault to it, etc, for sure I would like to upgrade only the ram to 32gb no repasting, etc and add a second 1tb SSD without voiding the warranty, and also looking for compatible recommendations for it.
I saw a list on other threads, and I was wondering if I should just follow it, or you have any more advice or recommendations on it for this new model.
Thanks
Is this really still an issue at all on Ryzen 3700x ?
i went for the Neo Ram from g.skill meant to be the sweet spot for infinity 1:1 on ryzen

How did you find the Neo Ram on your build?
