    Yep you can have high and low signals, but these situations are normally caused by a fault condtion on the network eg water in a tap unit causing low signals or a faulty hybrid in an amp causing high signals. The network is designed to deliver a signal level between specific values, if a fault causes this to drop or rise out of this range then you will experience problems, Upstream power is controlled by the device on the end of the cable in this case the cable modem and is not adjustable by virgin media.

    No longer with them mate, was a TW Office monkey but unlike the majority I spent time actually gaining understanding how the network functioned or rather didn't as I delt with failed installs/pics/cons/capacity issues and general problems.
