I wouldn't buy another Belkin product after their support either............utterly useless.

Raymond was the guy I spoke to........

    Re: ADSL Synchronisation

I had that exact same router. It was fine for a year or so but packed in and I had to keep resetting and reloading the settings to get it working again. I got fed up and bought a Linksys router instead which has been ( touch wood ) much better... atleast port forwarding and DMZ work on this unlike that crappy Belkin!

I'd recomend you save up and bin the thing... I had endless problems with mine, it's not worth trying to fix after a while!

    Re: ADSL Synchronisation

I think the people at belkin tech are basically told to follow a standard procedure whatever the problem is. From what I have gathered its goes something like this-

    1) Check your username/password for ISP
    2) Hold reset for 30 seconds, then unplug and keep holding for about 10 seconds more, then plug power back in.
    3) If its still not working, change ADSL filter
    4) If not, then get a whoosh and line noise test performed by your ISP, and get the results back to us. The noise on the line must be less then 40db.
    5) If that fails, take your router to a friends house, and try it there.
6)And then finally 'we will send you a RMA number, as it is clear something is faulty with the product'

I have spoken to them quite a few times over the last couple of years, and I have had different problems each time, and the above procedure is pretty much what they have told me to do. I think their tech support is based in India now, not sure about their customer service department though, I think thats still based in the UK.

Just got my RMA number today by email along with a 1st class pre paid return label (which is good). The one good thing about belkin is that their RMA service is relatively fast. From what I recall you normally get a new router within 3 days of sending the old one back.
