    Advice on a router.

    Hi all,

I'm looking into buying a new router at the moment because I've had nothing but trouble with my old linksys since I got it.

One that has jumped out at me is this:

    Amazon.co.uk: 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 108 Mbps 11g Cable/DSL Router - Wireless router + 4-port switch - EN, Fast EN, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11 Super G: Electronics & Photo: 3Com

My only reservation is that I can't find anywhere that mentions whether this router supports upnp or not (this is important since the shoddy upnp on my linksys is one of the main reasons I'm getting a replacement).

Does anyone know if this router supports upnp, and if not, any suggestions for a high quality wifi router with lan ports included?

Have you tried contacting 3COM as I see their ADSL office connect series are UPNP compliant?

The netgear range is a good alternative.

Is 108mbps networking improtant to your choice, theres several different chipsets boasting that speed not all of which work together.

I found the manual of this online, and it does do upnp. It actually seems to have a lot of bells and whistles that appeal to me.

    Re: Advice on a router.

    Well the good news:

It works great, very fast and easy to set up...upnp finally works! I could never get it to work properly with my pos linksys. I have it running 3 pcs via cable, and a wireless laptop and a wireless ps3.

    The bad news:

My xbox 360 wireless can't detect it at all ...and apparently 3com support is a giant joke....I dont quite understand why they have a 'technical support' phone number when they dont actually do any technical support on the phone....
