    Cancelling Broadband

I have had enough of Tiscali! I have been with Tiscali since they were lineone and went to their Broadband service in 2003. I recently went to there 8 MB service in July 2007 and have had no end of problems with 8MB

Recently (last week or so) I have had a few peak time connection issues with things like teamspeak and games servers and have had several arguements with Tiscali Tech Service.

Anyway - I want to switch away from Tiscali but am unsure if my upgrade in July of this year constitutes a new 12 month contract period and would therefore incur a charge for terminating the contract or whether as I have been a customer since 2003 I would have completed my 12 month contractable period. I cant find anything relevant in the terms and conditions about upgrade cancellations

Anyone who has experienced this or can advice please post!

    Re: Cancelling Broadband

I am sure that a company like tiscali would sign you onto a new 12 month contract without even saying.

AOL did so to me, until I asked them whether they were or not.

Just phone them up, speak to manager, give him a rant (he wont understand anyway - ^_^ lol) and he may give into you.

    Re: Cancelling Broadband

I sent an email to support in complaint. Through in a few Router statistics of ADSL dropping history and they gave me a MAC code in reply.

I guess Tiscali know that they dont provide a great service, but are over subscribed!

    Re: Cancelling Broadband

Pipex were nice and easy, but as the post above, I would definitely cancel the direct debit with the bank.

I didn't cancel one recently and it came out (one final month) from an account with no money in it, I got charged £25 unauthorised overdraft charge and both the bank and company in question (it wasn't pipex, was another unnamed council tax provider....*cough* Bath and NES *cough*...) had no sympathy with me and said I should have cancelled it at the bank.

    Re: Cancelling Broadband

There response to my question via email: I think I get the idea of it !!!!

Thank you for contacting Tiscali Technical Support.

I understand that you wish to know about the contract period after upgrading the Broadband package.

I would like to inform that if you are upgrading the package which includes free line rental offer or TV, then a new contract period is been applied. Or else the same contract period exists.

I hope that the information provided above answers your query.

If you have any further queries or comments regarding the Tiscali Technical broadband service then please write to us. Your feedback is valuable.
