the wireless kits available from 17h march
comes with 1 dongle and install disk
And you get these free gratis as part of the XL package even if you're an existing customer? Any idea if it remains property of VM?
only free If you upgrade to XL after march 17th, but not sure what happens to ppl already on XL im guessing it will be £20. and as for ownership i think it will be similar to the modems. If you cancel after your contract you won't be asked to give it back, but will be asked to dispose of it. but dont hold me to that.
No, I have a Linksys. I didn't accept their offer of a router - don't need it.
they dont offer routers to anyone, maybe your with virgin.net
I'm on the 20mb Virgin service
Those routers recently have caused nothing but issues with me
First one fine for a few months, packed in a few days ago, got a brand new boxed replacement, exactly the same problem
Can't browse the internet or use messenger 95% of the time, direct connection is fine though
you must be in the trail area, where they have been testing the differnt firmware, and they have now found the one they are going to use.
*sighs*
No, I'm on Virgin cable, ex-Telewest. Why is it so hard to believe that I was offered a router when I committed to a new 12-month contract? Maybe it was the old kit I was offered (which seems unlikely if as you say it's been recalled), but I definitely had the option of a free wireless router.
PS. It's "trial", not "trail".
well because i work for VM and we have not been sending out any routers for some time (18 months i think), so i guess im curious as to who / which dept at work has sent them out and why?
Beats me - but there's no way I'm replacing my rock solid WRT54G with anything from VM anyway.
(PS. If you work for VM can you ask the relevant dept to update the farcical even faster page?
Where's my upgrade?
What use is it when it still shows everywhere as "TBC"?!)
Its best to buy your Router Yourself usually. It allows you to customise it yourself, unlike for example Sky Broadband's routers are locked unless you know the password.
