    vista networking problem

ok, basically my computer gets its internet connection wirelessly via a pci wireless adaptor
my motherboard has an ethernet port on it which i have a device connected to (a cable box)
in xp giving the cable box internet access was easy, just a case of entering the network settings into the box and into the properties of the network adaptor (ethernet port) since upgrading to vista this has seemingly become impossible ive tried loads what is frustrating is my computer and cable box can talk to eachother as i can ftp to and from but i just cant for the life of me grant it internet access, in windows it just says unidentified network limited access please help guys!!

    Re: vista networking problem

What do you mean by "cable box" ? I understand it as a cable modem for example if you're on NTL / Virgin. But I guess not because you have internet provided by a wireless network? What is it?

Your wired network connection going to the cable box, did you specify a specific IP address? Or do you "get one automatically", i.e. DHCP?

Go to a command prompt and type "ipconfig -all" and copy / paste the result here.
