decent uk internet service providors

hello,
atm i have BT broadband option 3 up to 8mb broadband (normaly around 3.6mb) max ive ever had is 5mb. unlimited bandwidth fair usage policy (used to be 30gb) never went over that.
ye the bt home hub is useless and normally restarts itself every few days max record is 18days once lol.
it costs £24.99 a month used to be £29.99 a month.
static ip address could be useful.
hopefully looking for an isp with good customer support aka hopefully english people answering the telephones. it was hard to word that sentance.

O2 and Be have freephone, Uk based 24/7 customer services and answer within 1 ring. They're probably the best ISP from that point of view. Sky are also worth considering, expecially if you are wanting TV and phone packages.

I moved from BT to O2 and the difference is huge. I pay £7.50 a month for unlimited 8mb broadband now, rather than limited £24.99!! Statis IP addresses cost an extra £5 a month though.

shame i cant get cable here TBH.
i can get adsl from virgin media up to 8mb for £17.99 but the best deal i have found atm is sky.

Opted to change to o2 Monday, got a MAC key out of my current ISP within two hours of asking and the o2 Wireless box arrived yesterday.

Should be up and running by the 10th. Impressed so far

BE and O2 use the same infrastructure so if you can't get the one you are unlikely to get the other as I don't believe O2 re-sell on third party infrastructure

I couldn't get o2 or Be in my area but I went with what o2 call their "Home Access" product
