    Strange FTP Question

Ive got my own FTP running, which works, ive also got a domain with ftp.domainname.co.uk pointing to my ftp address.

If i connect using the domain name and not the IP address it doesnt work i get this instead:

425 Cannot open data connection : you supplied a local ip in PORT command, switch to PASV mode. (10060)
Im already using passive mode and have all the ports open on my router (otherwise the IP address wouldnt work!)

    Any ideas?

Hmm already got the relevant ports open, maybe the peeps holding my domain have them blocked.

The people who do the domain for you just translate the hostname to your IP they have no influence on your traffic.

Hmm they used to have it set so that they did frame based domain forwarding / relaying whatever you want to call it rather than changing the DNS entries.

I wonder if theyve swapped it back to that again.
