XBOX 360 - Wireless network behaviour with multiple APs

Could anyone possibly clue me up as to how the 360 deals multiple access points? I've got a setup in a client's house with two access points and, I suspect, the XBOX is still asociating itself with the original access point rather than the one just a few meters away.

I know that the Wii actually looks at the BSSID when it connects to an access point but I can't find much detail on x-box behaviour beyond 'plug in, set SSID, off ya go' and I've zero experience with the things.

This is a pressing issue as the X-box is vital to the smooth running of their business

Why not just set the xbox up with a static IP? And set it to access the 2nd access point which I assume would have to have a different IP address?

WiFi doesn't work that way, setting a static IP on the 360 or using DHCP will make no difference as to which AP it associates with. The IP address of the AP is transparent, you could for example give the AP an IP on a completely different subnet and the wireless clients would still work.

Delete the wireless connection on the 360, power off the original AP, wait a few minutes then setup the wireless connection on the 360 again. it'll then only see the other AP and should associate with it.

Good call. If that works, I'm assuming the xbox saves the BSSID somewhere and doesn't tell you rather than looking for APs broadcasting the SSID every time it needs to associate and picking the strong one.
